Founded in 2014 by Jake Weiner, ZOOZ Fitness is a one-of-a-kind inclusive fitness facility dedicated to empowering people with developmental and physical disabilities to thrive—physically, mentally, and socially. With a unique blend of personal training, psychology, marketing, and Judo, Jake saw a critical gap in the fitness industry: accessible, welcoming fitness spaces for individuals with disabilities. ZOOZ was created to fill that gap.

What started with just a few personal training sessions in a local park has grown into a thriving fitness community serving over 450 athletes across Woodland Hills and the greater Los Angeles area, with a waitlist that reflects the high demand for truly inclusive wellness spaces. ZOOZ offers a wide range of programs, including:

One-on-one and semi-private personal training sessions
Group circuit training classes
Zumba and cardio dance classes
Boxing and boxing for individuals with Parkinson’s
Strength and conditioning for people of all ability levels

For over a decade, ZOOZ Fitness has focused on more than just physical exercise—it’s about creating a safe, supportive, and empowering environment where athletes can develop strength, gain independence, and build community.

The need for gyms like ZOOZ is immense and urgent. Studies show stark disparities in fitness access for people with disabilities:

60% of adults with mobility disabilities report no aerobic activity, significantly increasing their risk for chronic health conditions like heart disease and diabetes.
People with developmental disabilities are far less likely to meet basic physical activity guidelines than their non-disabled peers.
A staggering 81% of individuals with disabilities report feeling unwelcome in traditional gyms and fitness settings.

At ZOOZ, every program is designed to break down these barriers. Athletes don’t just improve their physical health—they experience increased confidence, self-esteem, and social connection. Many have achieved significant weight loss, developed critical life and motor skills, and found a space where they can truly be themselves.

ZOOZ Fitness is more than a gym—it's a movement. With growing demand and plans to expand across California and beyond, Jake and his team are committed to reshaping the fitness industry into one that embraces all bodies and all abilities.

Jake holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Marketing from the University of Arizona and is certified as a personal trainer and inclusive fitness trainer by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and the National Center on Health, Physical Activity, and Disability (NCHPAD). He is also CPR/AED certified and holds a Certified Black Belt Instructor rank in Judo.

ZOOZ Fitness was born from Jake's commitment to creating inclusive and adaptive fitness solutions for individuals of all abilities, aiming to break down barriers to physical activity and promote a healthier, more active lifestyle for everyone.
