From Pavement to Peaks: ZOOZ Fitness Run Club Goes Hiking
October 22, 2025

ZOOZ Fitness’ monthly Run Club, which usually meets to hit the pavement at Balboa Park, decided to change things up in October — trading city streets for scenic trails.
Several athletes, along with their parents and coaches, gathered around 9 a.m. at the El Scorpion Trail in West Hills for a two-and-a-half-mile hike. Under clear skies and warm sunshine, the group made their way uphill, laughing, chatting, and taking in views of the rugged, mountainous landscape that surrounded them.
The hike was not only a great workout but also a refreshing way for athletes to connect with nature and one another outside the gym.
AJ, a ZOOZ athlete, said he enjoyed the change of pace. “I had fun and am excited for Run Club next month!” he said — already thinking ahead to a well-earned breakfast of pancakes and eggs after the hike.
ZOOZ Run Club will reconvene in November, ready for another morning of movement, friendship, and fun. This run will be extra special, as the team will take part in the “Because I Can” Virtual 5K, organized by AwareNow Media. The event honors Allié McGuire, AwareNow’s co-founder, and supports her effort to raise funds for a documentary about her personal journey with multiple sclerosis.
