Strong Like a Mother: A New Kind of Strength at ZOOZ Fitness

April 7, 2026

At ZOOZ Fitness, strength has always meant more than just physical fitness. It’s about community, confidence, and creating spaces where people feel supported.

Now, that mission is expanding in a powerful new way — with babies in tow.

Introducing “Strong Like a Mother,” a new postpartum strength class designed for moms who want to prioritize their health without having to leave their children behind.

Where motherhood meets movement

The idea for Strong Like a Mother didn’t come from a business plan — it came directly from moms.

Inside “Fundamental Milestones,” the mom-and-baby program led by Shahar, co-owner of ZOOZ Fitness, a common request kept coming up:

“We want to work out… but we want to bring our babies.”

That request sparked something bigger.

“Moms asked me if we could create a class where babies are welcome,” Shahar shared. “And I thought — why not? Let’s give it a try.”

Now, every Friday morning at 9 a.m., moms arrive at ZOOZ with their babies — some in strollers, some crawling on the floor, some even becoming part of the workout — all sharing a space designed for both of them.

What is Fundamental Milestones?

At the heart of this class is Fundamental Milestones, the program Shahar created after becoming a mom herself.

What started as a personal journey quickly grew into a thriving community.

Fundamental Milestones focuses on baby development through movement, teaching parents how to support their child’s growth at every stage — from rolling and crawling to building body awareness and coordination.

But it’s more than just developmental education.

It’s a space where moms:

Learn how to engage with their babies

Build confidence as parents

Connect with other moms going through the same stage of life

Today, the program serves dozens of moms each week — and now, it has found a home inside ZOOZ Fitness.

Two worlds, one mission

What makes this story even more special is how it came together.

ZOOZ Fitness, founded by Jake, Shahar’s husband, has always focused on creating inclusive fitness spaces. Fundamental Milestones, built by Shahar, focuses on early development and motherhood.

Now, those two worlds are coming together under one roof.

“I’m so grateful,” Shahar shared. “Both my passion and my husband’s passion are coming together in one place. There’s nothing that makes me happier and whole.”

That collaboration made Strong Like a Mother possible — blending strength training with motherhood in a way that simply didn’t exist before.

A workout designed for real life

While the environment may look different, the workout itself is very real.

“This is a postpartum class with a focus on core recovery, building strength, and improving the movements moms are doing every day,” said coach Travis, who leads the sessions.

Moms can expect a structured strength training class — but one that’s adapted to their current stage of life.

From rebuilding core stability to improving functional movement, the class is designed to help moms feel stronger in the ways that matter most: picking up their baby, carrying a stroller, or simply getting through the day with more energy.

And the best part?

They don’t have to find childcare to do it.

Removing the biggest barrier

For many moms, working out isn’t just about motivation — it’s about access.

“It’s really hard to find a place where you can bring your child,” said Danielle, a mom of three. “Usually you have to find a babysitter, pay for it, then go work out… it’s a whole process.”

That process often becomes the reason many moms don’t work out at all.

But at ZOOZ, that barrier disappears.

“There’s no excuses here,” Danielle said. “You bring your kids, they play, and you get a real workout. The feeling after is amazing.”

A space moms have been waiting for

For Hadar, this class fills a gap she’s felt for a long time.

“This is the only time I can find for myself,” she shared. “I don’t get help at home, so I drop off my older son and come here with my baby. Before this… I didn’t work out.”

Like many moms, Hadar had been waiting for something like this to exist.

“I feel like everywhere you go, you can’t bring your little ones,” she said. “So you have to figure out childcare. This is just… everything in one place.”

And that’s exactly what makes the class so impactful.

It’s not just a workout.

It’s time for yourself — without sacrificing time with your child.

Strength for moms, not just for babies

One of the most important aspects of the class is its focus on the mom — not just the baby.

“A lot of the time, we put ourselves aside,” Shahar explained. “We focus everything on the baby. But this class gives moms the chance to work out for themselves while still being there for their child.”

It’s a subtle but powerful shift.

Instead of choosing between self-care and caregiving, moms get both.

And that balance makes a difference.

“I feel like I’m a better mother after I do this,” Danielle said. “Even once a week — it’s for you.”

More than fitness: building community

Beyond the physical benefits, Strong Like a Mother is quickly becoming something even more meaningful — a community.

Babies interact. Moms connect. Conversations happen between sets.

And for many, that connection is just as valuable as the workout itself.

“It’s amazing to have a place where the kids can play, interact, and we can focus on ourselves too,” Danielle said.

A vision for what’s next

Right now, the class is small — a tight-knit group of moms showing up week after week.

But the vision is much bigger.

With ZOOZ Fitness and Fundamental Milestones continuing to grow together, this class represents just the beginning of what’s possible when fitness, family, and community come together.

Because at the end of the day, this class represents something simple but powerful:

A space where moms don’t have to choose.
